Rick is a Senior Aquatic Biologist with over five years of experience working with aquatic ecosystems. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology (University of Alberta), Rick gained valuable experience working as a consultant in Alberta and British Columbia.
Since joining Lotic in 2020, Rick has been leading crews in the field with his positive attitude, team player approach and focus on safety. Rick's work has included: fish inventory/stock assessments, fish habitat assessments, spawning assessments, angling surveys, telemetry tracking, snorkeling surveys, invertebrate sampling, environmental monitoring, water quality collection, hydrological field work, calcite surveys, and culvert and fish passage assessments.
More recently, Rick has taken on the role of Project Coordinator, delivering essential project management support across several fisheries programs to ensure projects run smoothly and meet all regulatory standards. With strong organizational and communication skills, he plays an integral role in every phase of multiple projects — including planning, scheduling, data collection and management, safety and risk management, permit preparation, regulatory data submissions, and technical report writing.
